DALLAS — A 19-year-old driver was arrested on DWI and evading arrest complaints after police say the driver drove away from police and crashed into another vehicle early Saturday near Uptown Dallas.

Police say they tried to conduct a traffic stop with a vehicle in the 2900 block of Thomas Avenue shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday, and the driver refused to stop and got away.

The same vehicle was involved in a crash later at Hall Street and Thomas Avenue, and Trent Aslin, 19, was arrested on complaints of DWI and evading arrest, police say.

The driver of the other vehicle was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.

This is a developing story. We’ll update this story as more details become available.
