LAKE WORTH, Texas — A North Texas woman has been arrested after stealing more than $5,000 worth of makeup, according to the Lake Worth Police Department.
Monday, officers responded to a theft call at a local business in the area. Witnesses informed police that the female suspect tried to get away by running into a nearby business. She was quickly located and detained by officers.
Police identified the suspect as 38-year-old Latoya Martinez. She managed to steal more than $5,500 worth of merchandise, according to the department.
"Retail theft cases will continue to be aggressively investigated, and those responsible will be pursued, arrested, and charged," the department said.
In a Facebook post, the department credited the arrest to the store employees who initially reported the crime.
