Former Tarrant County deputy constable arrested on complaint of indecent assault, officials say

The charge against Oluwafemi “Femi” Awe, 31, was related to an incident Feb. 25, according to the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office.

TARRANT COUNTY, Texas — A former Tarrant County deputy constable was arrested on a complaint of indecent assault, deputies said Saturday.

The charge against Oluwafemi “Femi” Awe, 31, was related to an incident on Feb. 25, according to the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a search warrant obtained by WFAA, two women met Femi at Koe Wetzel's Riot Room in Fort Worth where he offered to take them and others to a friend's apartment to hang out. They arrived around 4:30 a.m. and all took part in drinking and cocaine use.

Shortly after, the two women and Femi went to another friend's apartment where Femi asked to snort cocaine from one of their breasts, according to the document. He offered to send $100 via Venmo if they let him do it. The document states one of the women consented to the act.

In the search warrant, it states Femi bought more cocaine as the party was supposed to continue at a third apartment. On their way there, the women got stuck in traffic due to the Cowtown Marathon taking place nearby. It was 9:30 a.m. Femi suggested renting a hotel, but instead, he told the women to meet him in a Walmart parking lot off of Hulen Street.

When the women finally arrive Femi gets in the back passenger seat of their truck. The documents say they continued using drugs which eventually led to Femi taking off his clothes and demanding that they join him in the backseat.

"Femi did not have any underwear on and had an erect penis," the document states.

He then proceeded to tell them to make out with one another while he masturbated and caressed one of the women, according to the document. During the investigation, police were able to find his DNA on a t-shirt he used during the incident.

Both scared for their safety one of the women tells Femi to put his clothes back on. Femi responds "If you ever tell anybody, I know you have coke and a gun in the car, I'm a cop."

The women told police they were afraid to report the incident due to Femi saying he was a cop.

“The Tarrant County Sheriff’s believes he may have used his position to assault other females,” according to a press release.

Femi was issued a peace officer license in 2018 and has worked at several precincts in Tarrant County and for three months at the Godley Police Department. He most recently worked at Tarrant County Constable Precinct 7 in Mansfield.

Femi's attorney Tiffiany Burks sent WFAA statement saying "Not everything salacious is criminal. We welcome the opportunity to defend the accusations against Femi."

Anyone with information or believe they may have been a victim is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at (817)884-2233 or (817)884-3306.
