DALLAS — The first hotel in downtown Dallas’ Arts District is underway and set to open this year.

Dallas-based development firm HALL Group announced that it is opening HALL Arts Hotel, a luxury boutique hotel nestled between the cluster of performance halls in the city’s center, in the fall. The 183-room hotel will accompany a $250 million, 28-story residential tower, HALL Arts Residences, which is set to open in 2020.

The 10-story hotel, which is under construction at Ross Avenue and Leonard Street next to the KPMG Plaza at Hall Arts, was designed by HKS, Inc. Bentel & Bentel designed the building’s interiors where 50 pieces of curated artwork from local and international artists will be exhibited.

Two restaurants will be located inside the hotel along with 6,000 square feet of meeting and event space. A rooftop pool will offer skyline views and a lounge and terrace area will host live music and entertainment.

“I strongly believe that art, in all its forms, nourishes the human spirit, and as a long-time patron of the arts in Dallas, I cannot think of a better location for this exciting new boutique hotel,” said Craig Hall, founder and chairman of HALL Group, in a written statement.

The hotel will be managed by Latitudes: Lifestyles by Crescent Hotels & Resorts based in Virginia.

“Craig Hall and his team have dedicated themselves to investing in the future of the Dallas Arts District, our city’s artistic and cultural center,” said Mayor Mike Rawlings in a prepared statement. “The HALL Arts Hotel will bring even more visitors, artists and entertainment to the vibrant district that has put Dallas on the map as an international arts destination.”

Next to the hotel in the HALL Arts tower, condominiums will start at $2 million and range in size from 1,600 square feet to a penthouse that will be more than 10,000 square feet.
