CRESSON, Texas — For auto-enthusiasts, there is a place where they can drive Lamborghinis, Porsches and Ferraris around a 12-turn track. Where Batmobiles, a DeLorean, the A-Team van and the most famous vehicles in Hollywood history sit side-by-side.
Is this car heaven? No, it is 20 miles outside of Fort Worth.
In the community of Cresson, the Motorsport Ranch is a country club of sorts for car lovers. And the organization DriveXotic allows them to live out their dreams for at least a few laps.
“We allow you to come out and after just a little bit of training, we let you drive the cars to their capabilities,” said DriveXotic General Manager Josh Hough.
Their fleet is made up of eight “exotic” cars race fans dream of driving.
Hough told WFAA the Lamborghini is the most popular, but the DriveXotic instructors have a different preference.
“I think growing up, everyone had the Lamborghini poster, but we all love the Porsche 911 GT3 because it is built to do what we do. It is a track-orientated car. Really high-performance and good in the corners.”

After watching a quick 15-minute video discussing the techniques they will need on the track, drivers can get behind the wheel. An instructor sits in the passenger seat guiding drivers around the track and coaching them on how to get the best performance and fastest times out of their experience.
Each car has two mounted cameras, one facing the road, the other facing the driver, so they can take home a video souvenir of their ride complete with all the speed analytics.
“Anybody looking for a gift for their significant other or someone special in their lives, this is a great gift," said Hough. “An experience seems to go a long way.”
Not only can you take the exotic cars out on the track, but when you are done driving, the Motorsport Ranch has an impressive collection of movie cars that should please movie buffs.
The cars made famous in movies like Jurassic Park, Starsky and Hutch, Smokey and the Bandit and The Love Bug are just a few you will find.
