Did you know Dallas: 5 cool things coming to North Texas

Make way for all of the things coming to North Texas for you and your family.

Hope your social calendar has some space for all the exciting things coming to North Texas in the near future. We can hardly keep track so if you're struggling like us, here's a roundup of five things we've got our eyes on.

KAABOO

Move over football. AT&T Stadium is the host for the Kaaboo Festival this weekend. (May 10,11,12). Music, art, comedy and food. Sounds like all the things anyone would love to experience so why not indulge in all of them at once? KAaboo is happening this weekend, people. With music from The Killers, Ludacris and Little Big Town, there's literally something for all. Music not your thing? There's a comedian line up too. Plan accordingly because the line-up changes day-to-day

EATELY

Have you ever been to Italy? It's cool, we haven't either. But it'll definitely feel that way once you step through the doors at Eately in 2020. According to their website, this place is the largest Italian retail and dining experience in the world. It's a market-style meets food hall meets all of the things experience. There are 35 other locations across the world so if you want to get a feel for what's about to hit Northpark Mall, check out each location on their individual Instagram accounts

DREAMSCAPE

Keeping with the Northpark theme, also coming to the mall is Dreamscape. If you're into VR entertainment, this is going to be a pretty cool experience for you. According to their website, Dreamscape "merges the technique of 'motion capture' used in blockbuster Hollywood movies with sophisticated programming and a deep understanding of body mechanics by creating a platform that's able to track six people simultaneously, in-real time, with full body presence, and render them as characters inside a computer generated world." Phew. That's a lot to take in. Here's a video with an idea of what one of your adventures would entail. Summer 2019 is right around the corner!

KIDZANIA

"What do you wanna be when you grow up?" Ugh, remember that question as a kid? Now your kids don't have to have all the answers right away. KidZania is a place for kids ages 4–14 (PK to 8th grade) to explore a variety of careers and industries and role play while learning what those responsibilities could look like in the real world. According to their website you can role play over 100 professions like: Firefighter, doctor, news anchor, robotics engineer, police officer, chef, astronaut, chef, secret agent, radio broadcaster, actor. The website says when you get to KidZania you'll arrive to an airport style check-in area. When you check in, you and your kids will each receive an RFID security bracelet with GPS tracking device. Kids also receive complimentary kidZos, KidZania’s currency as part of the experience. Each experience lasts anywhere from 20-30 minutes and you can do up to ten activities while you're there. KidZania is set to open its doors Fall 2019 at Stonebriar Centre in Frisco.

BIG BOUNCE

Jump, jump, jump around. Literally. And the best part is that this isn't just for the kids. They have adult play as well. Big Bounce America's website claims that they are the world's largest bounce house offering family sessions or adult sessions depending on what you're looking for. North Texans, get on this one fast because this is a touring bounce house aka it's only here this weekend (May 10, 11, 12) so you better jump on it! (see what we did there) Skyline Ranch & Event Center is where you'll have to be this weekend for this.
