Between 'Toys' and 'Spidey,' there's always The Beatles!

"Toy Story 4" is likely to keep its hold at the box office this weekend. The new post- Endgame "Spider-Man" does't come out 'til next week. Let's check out what's new to see now!

Yesterday

A struggling musician becomes a pop music sensation when, after a strange global blackout and a bike accident, he wakes up to a world where nobody has heard of the Beatles except him! So he starts performing the classic tunes as if they're his. How's that for a great premise! Add to that screenwriting by Richard Curtis ("Four Weddings and a Funeral," "Love Actually") and direction by Danny Boyle ("Trainspotting," "Slumdog Millionaire"). Newcomer Himesh Patel is charming in the lead, so is Lilly James as the girl who's always loved him. "SNL's" Kate McKinnon is perfect as his brash American manager, as is Ed Sheeran playing himself (I hear the role was written for Chris Martin.) With all this going for it, i was surprised it doesn't completely 'come together.' (my only Beatles pun, sorry!) It's still very fresh and entertaining, and isn't that what we look for in a Summer movie?

Universal Pictures -  Rated PG-13

Annabelle Comes Home

After last week's "Child's Play," it's another creepy doll movie."Annabelle Comes Home" is the seventh in 'The Conjuring' series, and I'm pretty sure I forced myself to see only one, "The Nun," (awful). In this one, babysitters release the doll two demonologists have locked up, and she goes after the couple's young daughter played by North Texas actress Mckenna Grace. Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga reprise their role as the couple.

Warner Bros - Rated R

Avengers: Endgame - Re-release

Maybe you've heard of a little movie called "Avengers: Endgame." If you were disappointed there were no extras at the end of the original, Disney's re-releasing the movie. Expect a deleted scene, a tribute to Stan Lee and a few surprises. Will it finally pass "Avatar" for the number one movie of all time? It's about $30 million dollars short. Help 'em out, fans!
