Tiffany Liou is a multi-media / multi-skilled journalist WFAA in Dallas, TX, specializing general assignment reporting.
1) Who are you? Tiffany Liou is a general assignment reporter who joined WFAA in April 2018. She’s a multi-media journalist, meaning she shoots, writes and edits her own stories. Tiffany is proud to be a one-woman-band reporter.
She comes to WFAA from News 9 in Oklahoma City, where she got her fair share of tornados. One of the most memorable stories Tiffany covered was in Haiti, where she traveled as a solo-journalist.
Before OKC, Tiffany worked in Iowa, Louisiana, and the Bay Area, California. Tiffany graduated from Santa Clara University with a business degree, but after working in the tech world, she took a leap of faith to pursue her love for journalism. It was one of the toughest, but best decisions she made personally and professionally.
2) What are your interests? Outside of work, it seems like she’s never off-the-clock. Tiffany loves videography and you can almost always catch her with a camera in her hand. She loves shooting fun videos of her dogs and other passion projects.
Tiffany is new to the DFW area and is enjoying her weekends looking for fun fitness and food activities in the area. She loves to outdoor hike, indoor cycle, and participate in group workout classes. She also loves to take her two dogs, Suki and Bacon, to new parks to explore! Both Tiffany and her husband love watching the NBA. Being from the Bay Area, she’s been a Golden State Warriors fan since she was a little girl. (Yes, even when they were bad.) But she’s excited to attend some Mavericks games in her new city.
3) What do you like about working at WFAA? Tiffany came to WFAA to work with some of the best reporters and videographers in the industry. She loves the originality and care for storytelling at Channel 8. She is excited to be part of the team.
4) What's one thing people would be surprised to learn about you? Tiffany’s family is from Taiwan. She tries to visit her motherland every few years and is very invested in her culture. Tiffany speaks three languages, Taiwanese, Mandarin, and English. Growing up, she competed in painting and calligraphy competitions. She also was part of a diabolo team. Currently, Tiffany is an active member of the Asian American Journalist Association. She is proud of her Taiwanese roots!
