Paige McCoy Smith

Paige McCoy Smith is a reporter / producer for Good Morning Texas at WFAA in Dallas, TX.

1) Who are you? Paige McCoy Smith was raised in Texas but moved to Boulder to attend the University of Colorado. There she began a career in Sports Marketing. After several years, the Lone Star State beckoned her back and she moved with her new husband to Abilene. There, she received a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Eventually, Paige and her family settled in Fort Worth where she served as the Vice President of Communications at the Gladney Center for Adoption. With a little luck and a lot of perseverance, Paige landed her Dream Job at Good Morning Texas. Paige is married and has three children. Colt, age 18; Luke, age 13; and Victoria, age 8.

2) What are your interests? When Paige is not on the air, she spends most of her time in a carpool line or at a baseball game juggling her three kids. Sadly, she has no time for hobbies, but she is interested in entertaining, musical theater and sharing a glass of wine with friends.

3) What do you like about working at WFAA? Every day is a new adventure on Good Morning Texas. Meeting people and sharing their stories is the aspect of the job Paige enjoys most. Paige has the privilege of finding the stories often overlooked in mainstream media. She has ridden camels, been chased by ostriches, screamed on roller coasters, and even milked a goat. But these segments are balanced by stories involving loss, hope and the power of the human spirit. Paige’s stories are fun, entertaining, and sometimes poignant. There is simply no other job that could be as fun or rewarding than reporting for Good Morning Texas.

4) What's one thing people would be surprised to learn about you? She serves on the Board of Directors at the Gladney Center for Adoption. She understands the power of adoption and the mission of finding permanent, loving families for children. In fact, Paige’s daughter Victoria was adopted at the age of 6 months from Colombia.
