Driver in Irving intoxication manslaughter crash identified

IRVING — The driver in a fatal March 13 crash at Loop 12 and 183 in Irving was identified as 25-year-old Travis Lee Hodges.


Hodges was charged with intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault and is in Irving City Jail on a total of $150,000 bond.


Police said the driver lost control of his car at about 3:30 a.m. the morning of March 13, flipping it over. Alicia Rodriguez and Oscar Hernandez were ejected from Hodges' 2002 Volkswagen Jetta.

Rodriguez died from injuries sustained in the crash, and Hernandez suffered fractures to his spine and face as well as internal injuries, according to the arrest affidavit.


Hodges had a "moderate odor" of alcohol on his breath when interviewed by police that night, the affidavit reads.
