Coffee and video games? A great combination in Grand Prairie

Jai Kately opened Drip Cafe and Arcade after leaving his corporate job last year

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas — Drip Café and Arcade in Grand Prairie is the mullet of coffee shops: business in the front and party in the back.

“We love to have a good time,” said owner Jai Katley.

Kately left his job in the corporate world to open Drip Café last year and he didn’t want to just sell great coffee, he wanted to sell a great time.

That’s why, after you grab a drink up front, you can play games in back.

He’s got all the latest technology: from Xbox to PlayStation 5 to Oculus. Game stations can be rented for a small fee.

Kately says no matter who you are or what you like, you’re welcome here.

“Everybody’s welcome here,” Kately said. “We offer diversity here, we spur conversation. We want to make an area where everybody can come to Drip Café. Whether you’re here for the games or here for the coffee, you can come here and be yourself.”

People love that it’s such a diverse place, but they also really love the coffee.

Kately’s drinks, like the Dripachino, have gotten rave reviews.

Some customers have even asked him to expand beyond Grand Prairie.

“And I like to just say, we’re right where we need to be.”

Which means, if you want to visit the only arcade coffee combination in North Texas, you’ve got to go to Drip Café and Arcade.
