The energy companies that couldn't keep the lights on would seem the obvious place to start, but the real problem is so much bigger than them.
They weren't prepared for the record cold, because we don't pay them to be prepared. We don't pay in Texas for a lot of things we need. Better teacher salaries for one, a policeman’s pay another.

I've lived through worse winters in Iowa and Minnesota, much worse than anything we've seen this week.
So the only question now, are we prepared to pay the energy companies to be prepared?
