1) Who are you?  If I could describe myself in three words it would be funny, communicative and loving. I was born and raised on the east coast with immigrant parents from Jamaica and Guyana. My younger brother and I spent every summer in Jamaica with my grandparents. It’s there that some of my best childhood memories were created, like raising our pet goat Ishboo! I also grew up in a family that faithfully watched the news, which made my career decision an easy one. I attended Rowan University and got my first gig as a feature reporter in St. Croix U. S. Virgin Islands. I later made stops in Georgia, Maryland and Minneapolis.

2) What are your interests? I’m focused on my spiritual growth and maintaining my position as a role model to young women and men. As a black woman, I want to continue to break barriers within this industry. Personally, health and wellness are important to me. I’m a huge foodie, so it’s struggle to find the perfect balance. My father introduced me to long-distance running about four years ago. I went from running a measly three miles to training for marathons.

3) What do you like about working at WFAA?  WFAA is a legacy station and it has evolved to reach every generation. The newsroom is full of smart, innovative and dynamic people who strive to think outside of the box. I appreciate that there is a focus to heighten social media engagement! More importantly, WFAA is full of different ages, races, and cultures which makes me feel excited to be a part of the team.

4) What's one thing people would be surprised to learn about you?  I think people would be surprised to learn that I’m a military brat. I grew up on McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey. My father is the Command Chief Master Sergeant for United States Forces Japan and Fifth Air Force. I spent my 30th birthday in Tokyo! It was amazing.
