The Winter Weather Advisory has been canceled for the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Commuters should still remain alert as there could be some slick spots on area roadways.
A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 p.m. Tuesday for counties to the south of the DFW area.
Love Field Airport has canceled 12 departing flights so far.
The best chances for additional snow accumulation early this morning were for areas east and south of DFW. These are the areas that have already seen accumulations of snow overnight. Slick roadways, not just bridges and overpasses, have been reported in most of Ellis, Kaufman, Navarro, and Van Zandt Counties.
Some slick spots have been reported in DFW, but widespread slick roadways are unlikely. The highest chances for slick spots will be in eastern and southern Dallas County this morning.
All wintry precipitation ended in North Texas by 6-7 a.m., but slick roadways will remain in areas that saw snow accumulations.
Highs today will not make it above freezing, and wind chills will be in the 20s throughout the day.
North Texas stays below freezing through Wednesday midday.
