Warm air this week

The big story in the weather world is the warm up this week. Afternoon highs return to above normal with highs hitting 80° or above most of this week.

This upcoming week definitely looks to be the warmest stretch of weather we have seen so far this year.

A "cold" front will arrive on Wednesday, but will not bring a huge cool-down nor will it bring high rain chances to North Texas. Any showers or storms with the front on Wednesday look to mainly be across East Texas with most of North Texas staying dry.

Overall the upcoming week is looking warm and dry. We definitely need some rain!

There are some hints the pattern could become more unsettled starting Friday into early next week. However, there are more questions than answers at the moment, so we'll iron out those details as we get closer.

Here's hoping we can get some decent rain soon because a moderate to severe drought is setting up for many locations in North Texas.
