DALLAS — Warm, muggy, and breezy weather will be around as we head into the weekend.

Those winds out of the south will continue to bring Gulf moisture into North Texas making it feel sticky outside.

That moisture will aid our storm chances this weekend.

What about the storms?

The storm system that will bring showers and storm chances this weekend is just off to the northwest of Texas as we head into Saturday.

A few showers are possible Friday night, but overall most of us will stay dry. The much better rain chances arrive Saturday night into Sunday morning.

The best timeframe for widespread showers and storms will last through Sunday afternoon.

Here's an idea of what to expect:

Any severe weather?

It's a natural question to ask this time of the year. The answer at this moment is "yes," but not for everyone.

A line of thunderstorms will form across West Texas, and move toward North Texas Saturday evening into Saturday night.

The line of storms will likely be severe to the west of North Texas, but they will weaken as they enter North Texas. If anywhere in North Texas sees severe storms, the best chances will be for far western areas.

Severe Weather Outlook for Saturday Evening and Night

As storms get closer to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, the severe weather threat will decrease. Storms are still likely, but not severe storms for the D-FW area.

Either way, we will add some needed rainfall. The rainfall forecast for Thursday to Sunday is a quarter of an inch to a half-inch of rain.
