Scattered rain to end the weekend, hotter and humid this week

Scattered to hit or miss showers and storms will be around to end the weekend along with warm, humid and windy weather.

Most of Sunday will be mainly cloudy, windy, warm and humid ahead of a hot and humid week.

Winds will gust 20-30+ mph at times from the south and temps will climb into the upper 80s and low 90s with plenty of humidity.

However, some lucky North Texans could see a stray shower or thunderstorm. Coverage will not be high, so not everyone will see rain.

If you have outdoor plans, keep an eye on the sky, and move things indoors if lightning and thunder are nearby. Move off of local lakes if thunderstorms are nearby.

Best chances look to be from Dallas-Fort Worth to the east with very low chances for areas to the west of D-FW.

Severe threat is very low, but any thunderstorms would be capable of heavy rain, frequent lightning and gusty winds.

Hot, humid week

Looks like we will see our first stretch of miserable summer heat this week.

High temps will climb through mid-week, and the humidity is not going anywhere.

This means afternoon heat index values will top 100° by Monday with heat index values 105° or higher Tuesday through Thursday. Heat Advisories may be needed during those days.

High temps and heat index over the next 5 days.

Keep this in mind if you are going to be outdoors on those days. Stay hydrated, take breaks, and have a way to stay cool.
