ARLINGTON, Texas — With the eighth overall pick in the first round of the Major League Baseball draft, the Texas Rangers selected Texas Tech University third baseman Josh Jung. 

Jung, 21, was the Big 12's Co-Player of the Year at Tech, and was one of 25 collegiate players on the semifinal list for the Golden Spikes award two seasons in a row.
