ARLINGTON, Texas — The Rangers are retiring Adrian Beltre's No. 29 this summer – now we know when.
The club will hold a on-field ceremony June 8 before the Rangers play the Oakland Athletics at Globe Life Park in Arlington. That's a Saturday, if you're looking to snag tickets early.
And there's this: To further mark the occasion, the Rangers will hand out Adrian Beltre bobbleheads commemorating his 3,000th hit to the first 15,000 fans at the game.
Beltre will become only the third Rangers player to have his number retired, joining Nolan Ryan (No. 34) and Pudge Rodriguez (No. 7). The Rangers have also retired the No. 26 of former manager Johnny Oates, and all of Major League Baseball retired Jackie Robinson's No. 42.
