Original story

As if the Battle of Belt Line needed anymore juice, Desoto head coach Mike Robinson gave it a little more this week, when he expressed some real confidence in the fact that his Eagles would beat Cedar Hill on Thursday night.

"I believe we're gonna win, and I believe we're gonna leave no doubt," Robinson said.

"Can I quote you on that?", I asked, as we talked on the phone Tuesday night.

"I don't care. I don't care. Because I believe in my kids," Robinson said. "I believe we're gonna win, and I believe that there's gonna be no doubt that we're the better team. I mean, I'm just gonna say it. Our kids are focused. They're ready."

The rivalry has proven to be one of the biggest in all of Texas High School football, and has seen both these schools win state championships over the last 15 years – Cedar Hill claiming three (2006, '13, and '14), and Desoto winning their first state title in school history in 2016.
