DALLAS — For the last five years, WFAA has broadcast sixty high school football games, spotlighting the best and brightest talent from all over the metroplex, on Friday Night Football.
Now, it's time to show some love to the basketball players in the area, as well.
Tuesday Night Hoops debuts tonight, as the Lake Highlands Wildcats, ranked #1 in the state in 6A, host the Richardson Eagles.
You can watch the game live, tonight at 7 o'clock, on the WFAA YouTube channel and on WFAA+. Pregame coverage begins at 6:50.
Lake Highlands features the top-rated player in America in the class of 2024, in junior guard Tre Johnson. A five-star prospect with 18 scholarship offers from all the biggest schools in the country, Johnson is an electrifying guard who can score in any way he so chooses, and can dominate a game. He'll pair with 6'10 center Samson Aletan and a Wildcats team that has raced out to a 15-3 start to the year, including some very impressive wins against national powers.
Richardson has been one of the preeminent programs in the area in recent years, sending several high-end recruits to the college ranks, and contending for state titles in each of the last few years. This year, they're led by senior forward Tim Jordan, who is a 6'7 bruiser of a forward, who can also put the ball on the deck and get to the hoop from the wing. Jordan, Pharoah Amadi, and Trenton Patterson will look to pull the upset on the top-ranked team in the state.
