FRISCO, Texas — On opening night of the 2019 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys did the same thing as the rest of us: watch it on TV.

For the first time since 2009, the Cowboys did not have a first round selection. They traded the pick to the Oakland Raiders in October 2018 for wide receiver Amari Cooper.

The Cowboys were 3-4 before the Cooper trade. They went 8-3 after it, including a first round playoff win against the Seattle Seahawks.

Had the trade not happened, Dallas would have had pick #27.

Props to the Cowboys digital team for crafting an amusing video as if the team drafted Amari Cooper with the 27th pick.

Assuming the Cowboys do not trade up or down, they'll make their first selection of 2019 in the second round with pick #58.

Among the positions the Cowboys are likely to select on Days 2 & 3 of the draft: safety, defensive line, linebacker, tight end and running back (back-up for Ezekiel Elliott).

The Cowboys hold the remaining picks in 2019:

Round 2 - #58

Round 3 - #90

Round 4 - #128

Round 4 - #136

Round 5 - #165

Round 7 - #241
