Wednesday's Child: Jayden

Jayden has grown taller, smarter and sweeter. Although he hasn't reached a permanent home, Jayden is grateful for his foster family.

"Don't ever quit." It's advice from a foster child who is determined to one day have a family of his own. We've featured Jayden once before and we hope this second time is the charm.

When we first met Jayden in January of 2017, he shared a prayer with us. "I pray dear Lord, oh Jesus, give me a family who will always love me and never give up," he told us.

Over the last year and half, Jayden has been through highs and lows in foster care, but his prayer has remained steadfast.

"I want a good family. I want to be in like Dallas and not China because that's far away," he said making everyone laugh.

Jayden has grown taller, smarter and sweeter. Although he hasn't reached a permanent home, Jayden is grateful for his foster family.

"I've been good. I got enough stuff in my room. I got enough food. I got enough energy, and we have a big place and we have fun," he said.

Like most children, Jayden loves one-on-one attention. He wants to play baseball and is so interested in video games he plans to turn it into a career.

"I want to be a game creator and try new things like new games. New designs. When I grow up, I can try to get my own shop," he said.

Jayden has fierce advocates. His caseworker and Court Appointed Special Advocate are trying everything they can to help Jayden find a loving family to adopt him.

"I've been telling every foster kid, try your best to be a good foster kid and never give up your dreams. That's what I will do," he said.

Whether he's praying at night or singing words of encouragement during the day, Jayden will keep on believing in the Forever Family that's meant for him. These are the words to a song he likes to sing.

"Don't give up, don't give in. Try your best. Never quit," he said.
