Victim identified in fatal Plano shooting

An 18-year-old male was arrested in McKinney Thursday night following a shooting that left one dead and three others injured at a Plano apartment complex.

PLANO — (Updated 6 p.m. Saturday) The victim who died in a shooting at a Plano apartment complex this week has been identified as Quintarius Young, 29, of Plano, police said.

Original story:

An 18-year-old male was arrested in McKinney Thursday night following a shooting that left one dead and three others injured at a Plano apartment complex.

Authorities were called to the scene at about 9:30 a.m. at the Cross Creek Apartments in the 7400 block of Alma Drive. Upon their arrival, police found one deceased victim and three others who suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect had already fled the scene.

Authorities didn't reveal what led them to 18-year-old Franklin Lee Barnes, who was arrested on an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge at about 7:30 p.m. Thursday in McKinney. Investigators said Barnes will likely face additional charges.

Arlington police also sent homicide detectives to the Plano scene to investigate a possible connection after two men were found shot to death inside a parked car at about 10:20 a.m. Thursday in the 1200 block of East Lamar Boulevard.

Arlington police believe there is a link between both incidents but say there is still a lot of investigative work to be done before they can file any charges.
