Two in hospital, multiple arrests in Fort Worth shooting, crash

Fort Worth Police say two people are in the hospital tonight after being shot in what detectives are describing as a drug transaction that spilled over into violence in an east Fort Worth neighborhood.

Fort Worth Police say two people are in the hospital tonight after being shot in what detectives are describing as a drug transaction that spilled over into violence in an east Fort Worth neighborhood.

According to FWPD, officers responded to a shooting call just after 5:30p.m near Burchill Street and McKenzie Street. and found a juvenile shot in the midsection and another victim shot in the arm.

Detectives say two vehicles were involved with occupants in both shooting at each other. Police believe one party was attempting to rob the other.

Investigators say a victim in another vehicle was robbed at gunpoint and one the suspects took off in the victim's car.

Detectives said they recovered "several firearms" from six different crime scene locations.

Late Saturday, police could not confirm which party started the shooting, but did say it believed all parties involved were in custody, but declined to specify how many suspects had been arrested.
