FORT WORTH — A Fort Worth officer shot last week in a gun battle with suspects remained in a local hospital Sunday, police said.

Police Cpl. Tracey Knight said Sunday in an email that officer Matt Pearce, 36, is still critical.

Pearce was chasing a father and son from Parker County in a wooded area Tuesday when he was shot multiple times with a handgun. Some of the gunfight was captured by Pearce’s body camera, police said.
