FLOWER MOUND, TX -- It was just another unpaved road in an up-and-coming development in Flower Mound.
But that changed Saturday.
With each foot step on the rocky path, a family found itself closer to a fallen hero. "It's been eleven years," said Mark Hudson.
Because around 10:00 a.m., the road was given a familiar name."We will continue to keep his memory alive," said Hawks Hill Developer Jeff Ramsey.
Ramsey is honoring fallen service members by naming streets inside his Hawks Hill development project after them.
"Just wanted to say thank you," Ramsey said.
Aaron Hudson Drive is his latest tribute. The road is named after the 20-year-old soldier from Highland Village.
Hudson was a Marcus High School graduate killed in Iraq after an IED exploded near his convoy.
Aaron's parents Mark and Annette have been without their son since 2005.
"I don't know how to say it," Mark said. "But this is now something we can hold onto."
Another street in the development, near 2901 Waketon Road, bares the name of fallen U.S. Marine, 21-year-old Lance Cpl. Jacob Lugo.
Lugo died in Iraq in 2004.
