Bones found in a creek bed near an elementary school earlier this week have been identified as those of Christopher Tennyson, a 47-year-old man missing since April.

Todd Shapiro, an attorney for Tennyson's family, confirmed the news Thursday morning.

What appeared to be a skull was found Tuesday near Carlisle Elementary School by a bicyclist. Police searched the area for bones and sent them to be identified by a medical examiner.

Tennyson was last seen Saturday, April 4 in Plano. Police warned that he may be disoriented or in need of medication.

Tennyson's cause of death hasn't been released.
