Wednesday's Child: 13-year-old Victoria

The 13-year-old is nearing three years in foster care and she knows what she wants in a forever family: "No drama, no fighting, and no violence."

CEDAR HILL, Tx. — Editor's note: The video above aired on Oct. 24, 2018. We are resharing Victoria's story in hopes of her finding her forever family.

CEDAR HILL, Texas – What’s most important to know about Victoria is what happens to her when she’s with animals. We got to see it for ourselves when we sat her down for an interview about her life.

"My favorite subject is science because we get to do experiments," she said.

The 13-year-old is nearing three years in foster care and she knows what she wants in a family.

"No drama, no fighting, no violence or anything like that," Victoria said. She is open to siblings!

What this future veterinarian would like is a pet to call her own. She was so polite and a little reserved when talking to us, but her face lit up when we put a puppy in the mix.

"I feel happy, he’s making me more comfortable," she said of Coco, the puppy. "And he’s so cute!"

Victoria says animals make her feel loved and protected. At the Tri-City Animal Shelter, she’s not the only one searching for her forever. The wait can be long, but Victoria’s dream is to find the people who will love her as unconditionally as she feels animals do.

Thank you Tri-City Animal Shelter in Cedar Hill for hosting WFAA.
