An elderly man was found dead by firefighters in a vacant home that caught fire early Monday in South Dallas.
Firefighters responded to the 2600 block of Southland Drive just before 1 a.m. for a fire at a boarded-up home believed to be vacant.
The man's body was discovered after the fire was extinguished.
Authorities have yet to determine if he was killed by the fire or died before the fire started. His name has not been released.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
