HGTV giving away Smart Home in Roanoke

So, how do you win? Visit HGTV.com between April 24 and the June 14. You can enter up to twice a day.

ROANOKE, Texas — An hour drive from Dallas, you’ll find a home where technology meets design.

This house was built from the ground up to show both seamlessly. HGTV built the house for a TV show, and now the network is giving it away.

“Today there’s a lot of devices like Ring and Nest and Sonos, these brands where you can bring them into a house put them on WiFi and kind of piece a smart home together,” said Steve Harman, of MediaHead, a small automation company based in Dallas.

From a golf simulator in the garage to a super TV that doubles as an art piece when you’re not using it, every piece of tech is integrated via the home's WiFi network.

“Really (a) smart home is less about somebody else automating the system for you as a homeowner," Harman said. "You can figure out how they benefit you and your lifestyle and your family.”

“Only one person can win the home but literally millions across America get design tips and construction tips and style tips for their own homes,” said Kristin Alm, a spokeswoman for the network.

The total package is worth $1.2 million. The winner gets $100,000 and a 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE to park in the driveway.
