FORT WORTH, Texas — Updated at 4:30 p.m. with new details from Fort Worth ISD.
Five students were taken into police custody Tuesday morning after a fight broke out at Rosemont Middle School in Fort Worth, according to a Fort Worth Independent School District spokesperson.
Four of those arrests were for assault on a peace officer, and the fifth arrest was for interference, said Fort Worth police Officer Daniel Segura.
Fort Worth ISD says a "scuffle" ensued between five students who had gotten into an argument in the hallway.
A police officer and campus security guard intervened and broke up the fight.
In the end, MedStar said nine people had minor injuries; three students, five staff members and one police officer. No one was transported to the hospital, Fort Worth ISD said.
The school was placed on lockdown while police conducted their investigation. By 11:15 a.m., the school went back to normal.
Parents, like Irma Nava, picked up their kids early out of concern. She said she saw the news first on her phone, and then her child reached out.
"He called me, said something happened in the school," Nava said.
"I just heard the sirens and got into a lockdown," said her son, Bryan Corrales. " I didn't really know what was happening, so I just followed what they said."
Additional police security remained on campus throughout the day, authorities said.
Police said no weapons were found at the school during the incident.
