DFW weather: Multiple house fires, accidents reported across metroplex Wednesday night

As rainy weather rolled in Wednesday night, emergency first responders were kept busy responding to car crashes, house fires and flooded roads.

DALLAS — As rainy weather rolled in Wednesday night, emergency first responders were kept busy responding to car crashes, house fires and flooded roads. Below is a rundown of the effects of the storms across the metroplex.

DFW weather: A Few Severe Storms This Evening

House fires

At 6:28 p.m., the Flower Mound Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 4600 block of Wisdom Creek Court. Fire and smoke consumed the second floor of the house. 

At 7:02 p.m., the Southlake Fire Department responded to a house fire in the Carillon area. 

Other damage

The following areas in Fort Worth are flooded, according to the City of Fort Worth:

  • 8000 Old Granbury Road
  • 101 W. Morningside Drive

Furthermore, MedStar has responded to at least 34 EMS calls since 7 p.m.

As of 9:01 p.m., MedStar ahs taken 15 people, ranging from 25 to 70 years old, to the hospital for heat-related illnesses. Of those 15, eight were in serious condition, MedStar said.

Power outages

As of 7:43 p.m., more than 40,000 outages have been reported. The outages per county are listed below.

  • Collin: 199
  • Dallas: 7,773
  • Denton: 2,885
  • Tarrant: 29,349
