RICHLAND HILLS, Texas — A 1-year-old boy died after he was hit by a truck Thursday in the backyard of a Richland Hills home, police said. 

Officials called Alexander Vang's death a "tragic accident." 

Officers were called around 8:17 p.m. to a home in the 3400 block of Popplewell Street, near Baker Boulevard. 

A relative was moving a trailer with a truck in the backyard of the home when the Alexander was hit. The driver was unaware the boy was near the truck, police said. 

Alexander was taken to the hospital, where he later died. 

Police said they are not filing any criminal charges.
