DUNCANVILLE, Texas — Friends are remembering the life of a Duncanville High School student who was killed in a single-car crash early Sunday morning.
Diamond Finley, 16, was riding in a car with three friends when the wreck happened on the IH-20 service road near Willoughby Boulevard in southern Dallas county on Sunday. Deputies say Finley was in the front passenger seat, leaving a party with friends, when the car veered from the road and hit a treet.
The three survivors were rushed to the hospital. The 18-year-old driver was in stable condition. A 17-year old girl was listed critical, at the time. A teenage boy who firefighters had to rescue from the backseat of the vehicle was nursing critical injuries.
Investigators said none of the teens were drinking that night.
Childhood friends said many will describe Finley as the life of the party, but most say she was the party.
A vigil for Finley was scheduled to be held in Sugarberry Park, near the old Acton Elementary School on the 9200 block of County View Road at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
A fund has been set up to help Finley’s family with funeral arrangements.
