Dallas sins harder than New Orleans? New list puts our vanity and lust among the best

Dallas checked in at No. 13, not much of a surprise for a city of our size. What caught our attention was who we out-sinned.

Bourbon Street has nothing on the jealous, lustful streets of Dallas, at least according to Wallet Hub.

The credit-report company – which often churns an array of data into city rankings, from fattest to most gambling-addicted – published its latest offering this week: The Most Sinful Cities in America.

Dallas checked in at No. 13, not much of a surprise for a city of our size. What caught our attention was who we out-sinned, which included New Orleans at No. 19. We also bested casino-friendly North Las Vegas and Reno.

The real Las Vegas – who else? – topped the list, followed by Los Angeles and New York City. Houston, the fourth-biggest city in the country, is also the fourth-most sinful, according to Wallet Hub.

Dallas earned high marks for jealousy (11th), vanity (12th) and lust (7th). A few of the ways those categories were measured included tanning salons, adult entertainment establishments and thefts, per capita.

If the sinful ways of Dallas are too much to handle, you can head just north to Plano, which ranked 167th out of the 182 cities on the list. Virtuous locales such as Bridgeport, Conn., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Pearl City, Hawaii, also landed near the bottom of the ranking.

Check out each city's ranking below, and check out the full list here.
