DALLAS — If you live in Dallas and have been waiting to get a dog, this weekend might be a good time to adopt.

Dallas Animal Services is offering free adoptions on all dogs and puppies at both of its locations all weekend because their facilities are past capacity, the agency said.

The agency posted the following message on Nextdoor Saturday:

"URGENT!! WE ARE AT 109% CAPACITY!! We desperately NEED YOUR HELP to prevent healthy, adoptable dogs from being euthanized for space. We are offering free adoptions on all dogs and puppies at both of our locations all weekend (we ARE open Memorial Day) and through 5/31! Can’t adopt? Become a foster!l and give a great dog a temporary place to stay until space becomes available! Together we can save these wonderful pets!"

A search of the adoption center's website shows 193 dogs, 137 cats and a guinea pig available for adoption.

Adoption fees are typically $45 for a dog, but all fees are being waived this weekend.
