FORT WORTH -- Police have arrested a man accused of stealing a laptop in north Fort Worth, clearing a woman who was originally described by police as a suspect in the case.

Justin Dewitt Reynolds, 26, was arrested Sunday, according to jail records.

Police on Monday morning released photos of a woman who was originally in the case. A news release with the photos said the woman stole a man’s laptop and then texted him to ask for the password when a pawnshop wouldn’t buy the laptop without it.

However, a police spokesman said several hours later that the woman is not a suspect in the case.

It was unclear how the mistake was made.
