Teen arrested in death of 16-year-old found shot to death near Irving High School

A 16-year-old boy was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds Saturday morning. The juvenile suspect was arrested Monday.

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of another teenager in Irving, police said. 

A 16-year-old boy was found unconscious with multiple gunshot wounds around 1:11 a.m. Saturday near Irving High School in the 900 block of North O'Connor Road, police said. 

The teen has been identified as Felipe Escalante, according to the Dallas County Medical Examiner's office. 

Police said Monday that the 15-year-old was arrested in connection with Escalante's death and will be taken to the Dallas County Juvenile Detention Center. 

Because the suspect is a juvenile, his name has not been publicly released. 

Police said it's unclear what the motive in the shooting was.
