FWPD describes person of interest in 13-year-old girl's assault

Police are looking for a person of interest who may have information about the assault of a teen girl earlier this month in Fort Worth.

FORT WORTH -- Police are looking for a person of interest who may have information about the assault of a teen girl earlier this month in Fort Worth.

The 13-year-old was assaulted on April 19 while walking to school, police said. The incident happened at Calmont Avenue and Laredo Drive, northwest of the Western Hills Elementary and Primary schools, at about 6:56 a.m. Police were called after the teen was able to escape her attacker and flag down a school bus driver for help. She has unknown injuries.

The person of interest police are looking for is described as a white man with medium-length dark hair and a thin beard/mustache. He's about 5'8" to 5'10", weighing about 200 pounds.

He was last seen wearing jeans, a gray shirt, a black pullover sweatshirt, a backward dark baseball cap, and carrying a dark-colored backpack.
