DALLAS -- A convicted drunk driver who killed a woman as she left a fitness class in Uptown Dallas two years ago has been sentenced to 120 days in jail.
Emily Javadi, 34, was packing up her car after an evening workout at Cole Park in February 2015 when she was hit by a vehicle being driven by 23-year-old Travis Elwell.
Javadi's vehicle was rear-ended, throwing her forward into a pole. She was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead.
On Monday a court coordinator confirmed to News 8 that Elwell will spend 120 days in jail for intoxication manslaughter and will be on probation for 10 years after that.
He will not be allowed to drink alcohol, and he will be required to attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and speak to DWI support groups.
