Police need your help identifying a suspect who kidnapped a 16-year-old girl Wednesday.

CEDAR HILL, Texas -- Police have in custody a suspect who kidnapped a 16-year-old girl Wednesday.

Police arrested Jaterin M. Tyler, 19, who is expected to be charged with aggravated kidnapping.

Police said the suspect approached her in the 1000 block South Clark Road. He asked her several questions before pointing a gun and demanding she get inside the car.

Shortly before 9 a.m., officers were called to an intersection of High Meadows Way and Mt. Lebanon Road, where the teen jumped out of the suspect's car and ran toward another vehicle, police said. She used the driver’s phone to call 911. The suspect vehicle drove away. The teen was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

She told police that the same man had approached her several months ago. Police said this may have been a targeted, isolated incident.

Police believe he may live or stay somewhere in the southern portion of Cedar Hill. An increased police presence will patrol the area.

The victim described the suspect as a black man, about 18-20 years old, a thick, “chin-strap” type beard with no mustache. He has a “circle” type tattoo near his right elbow and a “tribal” tattoo farther up his arm. He wore a black shirt/black pants.

The suspect drove an older model, navy blue 4-door (possible a Honda civic or similar) with dark tail lights, possibly smoke colored.
