Candace Payne, the Grand Prairie woman who gained instant internet fame because of the unbridled joy she had over a Chewbacca mask, said she had “the craziest day ever” Friday.
The day before, she posted a video of herself unable to control her laughter while trying on a Chewbacca mask she had just purchased from Kohl’s.
It’s been viewed over 106 million times in two days.
The retailer jumped in on the internet sensation Saturday morning. A Kohl’s representative went to Payne’s home Friday evening to surprise her and her family with gifts of all sorts.
A video of the surprise was posted to Facebook Saturday morning and viewed millions of times in a matter of mere hours.
“Candace didn't want to share her Chewbacca mask. So we showed up to make sure she didn't have to! #AllTheGoodStuff,” Kohl’s wrote in the caption of the video, which the store titled “The happiest Chewbacca.”
Payne was presented with $2,500 in Kohl’s gift cards, 10,000 rewards points with the store and a whole batch of Star Wars toys for her and her family -- “to keep the birthday celebration going.”
Payne mentioned in the video Thursday that the mask was part of her birthday gift to herself.
Payne’s kids, Duncan and Cadence, joined her on the porch to receive the spectacular surprise.
“This is a lot of masks!,” exclaimed her son.
We can hope the gifts bring her family the same joy Candace shared with the world Thursday.
