Randy Travis has released a song for the first time in six years. The previously unreleased tune, "One In A Row," was recorded before the baritone suffered a stroke in 2013.

Travis is promoting his memoir, "Forever and Ever, Amen." The country legend will be in Plano for a book signing at the Barnes & Noble on Preston Road. Information can be found at barnesandnoble.com.

Travis and his wife sat down with WFAA in 2017 to discuss the loss of his voice after his stroke.

The singer has struggled to perform since viral cardiomyopathy had essentially shut down his heart. After the massive stroke and bouts of pneumonia, Travis would spend five and a half months in the hospital.

"Life was minute to minute. They said 'pull the plug, there's no hope,'" his wife, Mary Travis, told WFAA.

Music helped him recover. Dave Alexander, a musician and Randy Travis' friend, started playing guitar for the country music legend and singing his hit songs.

"I can see it in his eyes. I just know when it reaches him. I have no doubt it reaches him," Alexander told WFAA in 2017.

Randy Travis will be at another book signing July 14 in Fort Worth at Chief Records on Exchange Street.
