Mrs. Lee was married to an early oil man in East Texas. As the story goes... He purchased 1,000 acres of land but never used it. When he died she decided to see what could be done with the woody land. She decided to order some Daffodils to plant in the general area and contacted someone ordering a box! They they sent a box car! There were still employees so the 40 of them planted them throughout the area. Someone will meet you at the gate with instructions and using a dirt road you can drive through the area with a donation. They only bloom for a short period of time but wow what a site.
Mrs. Lees gardens is just outside of Gladewater near Tyler.
Worth the time.
