It was really an amazing sight to see North Texas filled with white snow flakes. Besides the dangerous driving it was fun to have a snow day and make a snow man with my 13 year old son. However, last night our power went out at 6pm and then again at 8pm. Since then it has not come back on. We have called repeatedly and have been told there is no way to tell us when we will have power again. Concerned, I have placed my food in the snow in hopes of not losing it all. I haven't opened my freezer and can only pray that it is still somewhat saved.
Friends who live a mere mile away lost power at 6am but it was restored before noon. We all have the same core electricity provider, Oncor and differing electric companies. For example, I have MX Energy and she has TXU energy. It seems there is no correlation to which company you pay the bill to as my neighbors who have been without power this long as well have TXU. It is a fiasco though regardless of who you pay since there is no logical ryhme or reason for whose power they restore first. I am hoping with this story, someone can shed some 'light' (and heat) in my direction!
It's not all SNOW and Games
