Almost an inch

Alvarado/Lillian/Mansfield-Snow Pellets

This started falling at 4am and quickened it's fall rate by 5am. By 5:30am my yard was covered, and by 6am we had nearly an inch of this stuff. It's opaque and looks like Dippin' Dots ice cream. It bounces off of the ground, but when you pick it up, it's light and fluffy with a hard center. Strange precipitation. It also was thundering, lightning, and some sleet was mixed into the winter precip, all at the same time. This happened on January 15th, 2013 at 4AM (CST) on the outer edge of Alvarado, Tx (off FM 917), about five minutes from Mansfield, Tx.
