Saturday, December 1 was full of excitement for the residents and staff of The Plaza at Edgemere, a Senior Quality Lifestyles Corporation (SQLC) sponsored community, as a wedding took place in their courtyard. Residents helped Alicia Reyes-Shutt, lifestyles coordinator for The Plaza at Edgemere, decorate for the special event. The bride, Christi, works at the community as a nursing assistant and wanted to share this special day with residents in memory care.
“It was such a special thing for Christi to share her wedding day with the residents and staff of The Plaza at Edgemere,” said Lorraine Kendrick, lifestyles director at Edgemere. “We truly feel like a family here at The Plaza, and Christi sharing her wedding day with us really confirmed that. We felt so blessed to watch her begin her future with her new husband.”
John Wilson, a resident of The Plaza, walked the bride down the aisle and couldn’t have been more proud. Happiness was all around for the newly married couple as well as for the residents and staff who took part in the event.
