Primrose School of Hickory Creek Students Learn about the Voting Process and Host Election

Hickory Creek preschoolers geared up for this year’s election by hosting “Election Day at Primrose” this morning. The students gathered together to learn about civic responsibility and the voting process from their teachers, and listened to children’s book, Duck for President by a special guest reader. Lynn Clark from the Hickory Creek City Council shared in the celebration with the Primrose students. The students casted their votes for the 2012 Presidential Class Mascot and the Presidential Snack of the Day in the Primrose polling place (a special voting booth). The Primrose School of Hickory Creek, along with Primrose Schools across the country, have created this election event to help teach young children about the importance of voting and the Presidential election, just prior to the Presidential election on Tuesday.

Waving rally signs touting “Voting Rocks” and “I Love to Vote”, the students also recited the Pledge of Allegiance. Additionally, the Primrose School of Hickory Creek offered tips on how parents can talk to their children about voting and the election.
