On Saturday June 30th, the city of Sulphur Springs and Hopkins County dedicated their newly constructed Veterans Memorial in downtown Sulphur Springs. The ceremony was immediately followed by the 21st Annual 4th of July Celebration featuring a concert by the Northeast Texas Symphony Orchestra and the Northeast Texas Chorale Society. The festivities concluded with a fireworks show. Several thousand were in attendance. The Veterans Memorial is the crown jewel of the downtown revitalization project, which included a complete facelift for the entire downtown square.
